I'm ready to book, what's next?

We need to check the availability for your wedding date, and package. You can either call us (we are pretty good about answering our phones unless we are at a wedding) or you can email us at info@themissionchapel.com to setup a call so that we can get to know each other. The last option is to us our Contact Us link on our website and send us a note that way. Some of the questions we will ask you are as follows: Wedding Date, Backup Date, Bride/Groom Name, Expected Number of Guests or Wedding Package you are considering, whether you want us to use our traditional vows or you are writing your own, ways to contact you, whether you need a photographer or flowers, if you need to book additional adventure package options and deposits required to save your date.

What kind of payments do you take?

The easiest way to reserve your date and time is to send us your deposit via paypal to themissionchapelaz@gmail.com. Balance of your specific package is due prior to the wedding ceremony via paypal, Chase QuickPay, or we can also accept a Credit Card, Debit Card or Cash the day of the ceremony. We require a $250 non-refundable deposit to hold your date and time.

How much time do I have at the Chapel?

You have thirty minutes, an hour or ninety minutes depending on your package. Any set-up is done inside of that time. Typicflly the time starts with gathering and some photography, then the ceremony (which can last anywhere from 12 minutes to 20 minutes) followed by more photography. Everything fits nicely in the space of an hour.

Can we use our own Photographer and or Florist?

Absolutely! Although we feel we have the best Photography Package at $150.00-$200 which includes the photographers time at the Chapel and your electronic images delivered you within 2-3 weeks after the ceremony.

How long does it take to plan an elopement?

The average wedding takes six months to a year to plan. However one of of the bonuses of eloping is the relative ease and reduced time to plan. Having said that, an elopement can be as simple or extravagant as you like. We offer a simple Elopement Wedding for the bride/groom and two witnesses, 30 minutes at the Chapel for just $175.00. You can have up to 45 people for $850 and add any of our adventure packages to any package. Makes it fun, simple and practical.

What are some of the things I need to elope? That's easy! Here is a quick list:

  • Decide to Elope

  • Determine Budget

  • Choose Location/Destination

  • Check State Marriage Laws and filing times

  • Decide which two witnesses to invite to ceremony (required in State of Arizona)

  • Pick honeymoon location & hotel

  • Choose ceremony (location, time, officiant, vows, rings, dress, flowers, photographer, music)

  • Decide to tell friends and family (or not)

Should I use a Justice of the Peace?

There is no waiting period by the time that you get the marriage license and when the marriage ceremony can take place. At the court house at 40th Street, you can get your marriage license and then wait until after 5pm in which they will perform ceremony. The cost is not state mandated so it varies by location, but the average is around $60.00. If you need witnesses it's $10.00 each per witness. You don't need an appointment but you can make one by calling the Clerk's office.

How is parking?

We have unpaved parking around the Chapel to accommodate your quests. There is also plenty of parking at the nearby facilities that allow us to use their parking for overflow needs.

Is the Mission Chapel part of a Church?

The Mission Chapel is privately owned and not affiliated with any church. However, we use the church at the Historic Cave Creek Museum as one of our locations where we perform ceremonies.

Does an elopement have a religious element?

Whether or not your elopement has a religious element is completely up to you. We offer different vow options, and you can even write your own, We want this to be all about you, and are happy to accommodate your special requests.
