We can accommodate indoor wedding ceremonies up to 50 guests, and this is the perfect place for a Reception following your ceremony if you so desire. Heritage Square is a truly unique setting for your wedding. The Chapel is a 1906 historical landmark, beautifully restored with its original stained-glass windows, sitting on the beautiful plaza among other historic Victorian homes. For smaller weddings there are two outdoor settings.
Nestled in historic Oxnard CA, Heritage Square offers a unique, quaint scene, combined with delightful gardens and fountains. The perfect location for you to create your Mission Chapel wedding. Heritage Square is by far an exceptionally original and notably historic part of Oxnard, with 15 beautifully restored structures at the site that preserve some of the special history of Oxnard’s early pioneer families. Heritage squares outdoor main plaza captures the beauty of the Victorian mansions and surrounding gardens. The Mission Chapel, at Heritage Square, can give you the micro, or elopement style wedding of your dreams.
The location is only 40 miles from the Los Angeles Airport, and has easy freeway access going north or south. We can also help arrange for an overnight stay nearby. There are many golf courses, riding stables, shopping ( at the Camarillo Shopping Outlet Mall ), dining, theatre, and more to make your destination wedding all you want it to be. You can head south to Los Angeles/Hollywood activities, or north to beautiful Santa Barbara activities. Or you can just stay in Ventura County.

How To Book With Us
1. In order to hold your date and time, we require a Fifty Percent (50%) Non-Refundable Deposit; that is applied towards your wedding package. For the Shot Gun Package, we do require that you pre-pay the entire package in order to book.
2. If you are ready to place a deposit to hold your date and time, you can do that two ways. First, you can book on our website, just look for the “Book Online” button or, you can call us at 805-618-1644 and we can gather all the details over the phone.
3. When you book we will ask you a series of questions about your guest count, ceremony add-ons, like the Unity Cross, Sand Ceremony, Unity Candle Lighting, music, photography, and which vows you would like. Choices of vows are here or you can customize your own. Upon booking, we block off the date and time so that no one else can reserve it with us or at the venue. We also get you in touch with our in-house photographer, if you wish to use her services. You pay her directly, not us for the photography services.
4. Last, we will ask that you review, complete and sign our Simple Service Agreement, you can find those here and that’s it! Balance if any is due before your wedding day.
How To See The Venue
You will find us at 715 S A St, Oxnard, CA 93030. Just input our address into your phone or car GPS and you can navigate directly to, Heritage Square.
TOUR HOURS
Heritage Square offers Private-Guided tours daily, and they are available Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm & Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm (weather permitting); $5 per adult $10 per Family. To schedule a No-Cost, personalized tour and meet with a Mission Chapel Team Member just call 805-618-1644, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you and discuss your wedding hopes and dreams.
While the Square is open to the public to visit anytime, the Church and some other areas are locked and only available by appointment. If you do visit without an appointment and encounter staff, let them know that you are with The Mission Chapel and want to take a peek at the venue for your proposed wedding.
Please keep in mind, that we are not there unless we are preparing for or, have a wedding, and that the Heritage Square personnel cannot answer any questions about our services. Also, the ceremony areas are not decorated for weddings unless we are preparing for or have a wedding at the time, so use your imagination or see pictures on this website or on our Facebook Page.
What to Expect on Your Wedding Day
Pure Bliss, A Lifetime of Happiness
We block out a 3-hour period for the Intimate, Wild West, and Ultimate Packages; and a 2-hour period for the Shot Gun Package. This period includes arrival and departure time, bride & grooms preparation time, congratulations, and photo session time.
- First 20 Minutes – Ceremony
- Next 25 Minutes – Congratulations and Pictures with Friends and Family
- Last 15 Minutes – Bride & Groom Private Photos
For the Shot Gun Package, guests often arrive with the Bride & Groom or, 15 minutes before ceremony time. For the Intimate, Wild West, and Ultimate package, guests arrive 30 Minutes before the scheduled ceremony.
Guests head to the Ceremony Area where they are greeted by the Groom. During this time, the Bride is in a private area, in hiding, and prepairing to walk down the aisle.
Immediately after the Ceremony, Guests have an opportunity to congratulate the couple, and partake in friends & family group pictures with the new couple.
After the family and friends photos are complete, the guests are asked to leave to the after party location, and the last 15 minutes the couple takes private one on one pictures with the photographer.
The Bride should arrive 30-45 minutes before the scheduled ceremony, and head to the designated preperation/waiting area. This allows for privacy from arriving guests, and a place to slip into your gown, and last minute makeup touchups. This is the area where the photographer will meet you to start taking some pictures. Your wedding coordinator or minister will also meet you here to go over last minute details.
During the time that the Bride is in thepreperation/waiting area, the Groom is at the ceremony location, greeting guests.
We will get started on-time, and the first 20 Minutes or so is the wedding ceremony, immediately followed by congratulations, family and friends photography for about 25 minutes, signing of the marriage license, and finally private photos with the new couple for the last 15 minutes.
Groom should arrive 45 minutes before the ceremony, and meet with a Mission Chapel team member of, the officiant who will perform the ceremony. The Groom will greet guests as they arrive, and thank them for coming.
During the time that the Groom is greeting guests, the Bride is in the waiting area preparing for walking down the aisle.
We will get started on-time, and the first 20 Minutes or so is the wedding ceremony, immediately followed by congratulations, family and friends photography for about 25 minutes, signing of the marriage license, and finally private photos with the new couple for the last 15 minutes.
If you have Bridesmaids, Ring Bearers, Flower Girls, a Maid of Honor, Best Man, Ushers as well as father and mother of the Bride and Groom, you will meet the bride outside of the waiting area 15 minutes before the ceremony.
Best Man, will stay with the Groom at all times..
The Mission Chapel team member or officiant will coordinate the precession.
Please note that most weddings do not have a precession, most of the time, the bride either walks alone, or is escorted by her father, or another important figure in her life.
There is no right or wrong, we are here to accommodate you, whatever your wishes may be. In most cases, we will go over all details the week before your wedding. That way, everything is fresh in everyone’s. mind. Most of all, we want this to be stress free and memorable.
